InnoTab 3 vs. InnoTab 3S
It’s decision time! The 3S comes out on top for sophisticated features but the InnoTab 3 is smaller, lighter and less expensive. Tough choice. We’ve outlined the key differences to help you weigh things up and highlighted features common to both learning tablets.
The 3S has a bigger screen: 5” as opposed to 4.3”. The InnoTab 3 is smaller, lighter and more portable.
The 3S has child-friendly WiFi, which means you can download parent-approved content and apps wirelessly. The InnoTab 3 has to be physically connected to a computer. The 3S also has Kid Connect, which uses WiFi to enable kids to text message parents and connect with friends who also have a 3S tablet. Meanwhile, the Wish List maker is another WiFi feature that allows kids to look at the download centre and request content for parents to buy.
The older model has 2GB of on board memory, whilst the 3S has 4GB. Neither tablet includes an SD card so you will need to buy one if you want to boost memory or watch videos.
The 3S comes with a rechargeable battery pack and an AC adaptor, whilst the InnoTab 3 runs on four AA batteries.
The InnoTab 3S has 20 free on board apps and one free download from the Learning Lodge. The InnoTab 3 has 16 apps.
At £99.99, the InnoTab 3S is £30 more expensive than the simpler model. However, the rechargeable battery pack and AC adaptor means it’s cheaper to run in the long term.
Both learning tablets are suitable for children aged 3-9 years and have a new directional pad with arrow controls. These make game play and navigation easier and more enjoyable for little fingers. You’ll also get a Wondercam, art studio, utility suite, stylus, USB cable, Learning Lodge Navigator installation CD, and apps for photo, video, eBooks and a music player.
